Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistant/Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service, preparing high-quality beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop barista skills within a dynamic coffee shop setting, contributing to a positive customer experience.

Duties

Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
Assist customers with their orders in a courteous and professional manner.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and customer areas in accordance with food safety standards.
Handle cash transactions accurately and operate the point-of-sale system efficiently.
Restock supplies such as cups, lids, condiments, and ingredients as needed throughout shifts.
Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure compliance with health regulations.
Support food preparation tasks when required, including assembling sandwiches or snacks.
Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service.
Uphold high standards of hygiene and presentation at all times.

Skills

Previous barista experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in handling food and beverages.
Experience in serving customers with a friendly and professional attitude.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Ability to prepare food items efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Strong organisational skills with excellent time management to handle peak periods smoothly.
