We are looking for a reliable and motivated General Farm Worker with a strong focus on milking to join our team. You will play an essential role in ensuring the health, welfare and productivity of our dairy herd, working within a supportive and experienced team.
Key Responsibilities
Milking & Livestock Care
- Carry out milking to a high standard, ensuring cow welfare and milk quality at all times
- Monitor cows during milking for signs of illness or injury and report any concerns immediately
- Follow all livestock health, hygiene and biosecurity protocols
- Handle animals calmly, safely and respectfully
General Farm Duties
- Maintain a clean, tidy and well-organised milking parlour and farm environment
- Clean and maintain equipment, ensuring faults or breakages are reported promptly
- Support daily livestock routines and general farm operations
- Work collaboratively with staff across multiple farm sites
Experience in milking is highly desirable, but training can be provided for the right candidate. You will need to have a positive attitude and willingness to learn, good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team and have a strong commitment to animal welfare and farm standards.
This role is working 5 days a week on a two-shift rotation basis (05.00 – 15.30 and 15.30 – 02.00). You will be required to work every other weekend.
Pay starts at £31,517 per annum. A room within shared accommodation can be provided with this position.
