Overview
We are seeking a motivated and friendly Takeaway Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the daily operations of our takeaway service, ensuring customers receive prompt and efficient service. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food, excellent organisational skills, and a keen eye for food safety standards. Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills within a dynamic team while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble takeaway orders accurately and efficiently to meet customer expectations
- Assist with meal and food preparation, ensuring all items are presented to high standards
- Support kitchen staff with basic cooking tasks and food safety procedures
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the food preparation and service areas in compliance with health regulations
- Serve customers at the counter or via contactless methods, providing friendly and professional assistance
- Manage order pickups, ensuring timely delivery of orders to customers or delivery drivers
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation during shifts
- Follow all food safety guidelines and hygiene standards at all times
Skills
- Experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable
- Knowledge of meal preparation and food safety practices
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour when serving customers
- Basic kitchen experience or culinary knowledge is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different tasks within the takeaway operation
