Full job description

Thames Valley Utilities is seeking motivated individuals to join our growing team of commercial water meter readers in the Southeast area (TN,BN,RH post codes) on a contract basis.

Our roles offer flexible working and are ideally suited to those who enjoy driving, self-management, working outdoors in all weather conditions, have excellent customer-facing skills, and have good local knowledge.

Previous experience is an advantage but not essential as full training is provided.

Please note that applicants must have access to their own vehicle (e-bikes are not suitable) and ensure that sufficient business insurance is in place before starting the role.

We work Monday to Friday, within business hours (9am to 5pm), however, overtime is often available upon request.

Offering

£27,500 to £33,500 + Biannual salary reviews.
Full-time positions (Mon-Fri/9am-5pm).
Full training.
Overtime potential.
Flexible working potential.
Petrol covered (20p per mile).
PPE, uniform. and tools, available.

Requirements

Use of own vehicle with relevant documentation (licence, insurance, etc.)
Use of own mobile device.
Excellent customer-facing skills.
DBS/Criminal checks.
Experience preferred, but not essential.
Excellent comprehension of the English language in both reading and writing.

Responsibilities

Read water meters accurately and efficiently on a scheduled basis.
Record meter readings and report any discrepancies or issues.
Use hand tools to access and inspect meters in various locations.
Follow established routes and schedules to ensure all meters are read in a timely manner.
Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any challenges or concerns.

Qualifications

Ability to work independently and follow directions accurately.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills in English.

Pay: £27,500.00-£33,500.00 per year
