Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Showroom Manager for our bathroom and kitchen showroom in Hereford which is currently going through an exciting transition. Currently a premium kitchen, bathroom and tiling showroom based in Hereford, we import exclusively from Italy and work with architects, interior designers and private clients to deliver spaces defined by material, proportion and craft.
We are at a defining moment in our story. A full rebrand is underway and the showroom is being transformed so this is a great opportunity to shape and build the role as we embark on a new chapter. Therefore this role is foundational.
Running a showroom like Form & Stone is not the same as managing a retail shop. The product is complex, the clients are discerning, and the day-to-day involves as much relationship management as it does operational oversight. We are looking for someone who understands that distinction — and who thrives in it. You will be trusted with the keys, the relationships, the team and the brand. That is a significant responsibility — and we are only interested in candidates who welcome it.
Day to Day
- Take full ownership of the showroom — opening, staffing, client experience and presentation standards
- Ensure the showroom is always presented to the highest standard — displays live and current, literature stocked, the environment immaculate
- Manage and develop the showroom team — regular 1-2-1s, training needs and maintaining high morale
- Handle client escalations with calm authority, resolving issues in a way that protects relationships and reputation
- Oversee the appointment system and ensure all enquiries are responded to promptly
Commercial and Suppliers
- Manage relationships with European suppliers and logistics partners — import orders, delivery schedules and quality control on arrival
- Maintain accurate stock records and inventory — ensuring display availability aligns with live product ranges
- Monitor sales performance, margins and conversion — reporting to the founders weekly
- Manage purchasing and reordering for showroom consumables, literature and samples
- Lead the showroom's contribution to the brand rollout — display changes, vignette builds, signage installations
Brand Experience
- Be the guardian of the Form & Stone brand within the showroom — every client touchpoint should reflect our identity
- Develop and embed a consistent client welcome and onboarding experience across the team
- Work with the founders on trade events, press visits and showroom launch activity
- Build and maintain relationships with local architects, interior designers and property developers
What we are looking for:
Essential
- At least 4 years in showroom, retail or hospitality management — including direct team management
- Experience in a premium product environment — kitchens, bathrooms, interiors, furniture or similar
- Genuine operational capability — you enjoy the systems and the detail as much as the people
- Strong commercial awareness — you understand margin, conversion and the levers that drive sales
- Excellent communicator with clients, the team and suppliers
- Calm under pressure and decisive when it counts
Desirable
- Experience managing import logistics or working with European suppliers
- Familiarity with Italian product brands in the kitchen, bathroom or tile sector
- Experience opening or relaunching a showroom or retail environment
- Knowledge of CRM, stock management or showroom operations software
- A genuine interest in design and interiors — you need to care about what good looks like
This role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced retail setting, possesses excellent organisational capabilities, and has a passion for delivering outstanding customer experiences.
What we are offering:
- Competitive salary — dependent on experience
- Performance bonus linked to showroom targets
- Full-time, Monday to Saturday (one weekday off)
- Based in our Hereford showroom
- Supplier training and product knowledge development
- Direct involvement in the showroom transformation
- Significant operational autonomy from day one
- Genuine opportunity to grow with the business as it scales
TO APPLY:
Please respond with a covering letter and your CV. Your covering letter should be personal — tell us who you are, why Form & Stone appeals to you, and why you are right for this role. Generic applications will not be progressed.
Pay: £35,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
