We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Yard Assistant to join our growing team in Hampton Bishop, Hereford.
This is a varied and hands-on role that involves working both independently and as part of the wider yard team. The successful candidate will play an important role in preparing customer samples, maintaining the yard and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of warehouse and dispatch operations.
A key part of this role involves preparing stone and oak samples for customers. These samples are often the first impression customers have of our company, so a high attention to detail and pride in your work is essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Cutting and preparing stone and oak samples to a high standard for customer orders
- Selecting clean and suitable materials for customer sample requests
- Cleaning, organising and keeping the sample shed fully stocked
- Building and assembling customer display stands with full-size samples
- Assisting with picking, packing and preparing customer orders for dispatch
- Helping load orders onto lorries and commercial vehicles
- Putting stock away safely and accurately when deliveries arrive
- Maintaining a clean, tidy and safe working yard environment
- Supporting other members of the yard and warehouse team where required
- Reporting daily to the Yard Manager for tasks and workload planning

- Previous yard, warehouse or manual labour experience is beneficial but not essential
- A forklift licence or previous forklift experience would be advantageous; however, full training can be provided for the right candidate
Working Hours
- Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:00
- 1 hour lunch break
- Saturday work on a rota basis
