Fosterville is family owned independent builders yard, which produces and sells concrete blocks across the South West to customers big and small. We also stock a wide range of aggregates in our yard, for customers to collect loose or bagged. Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Worker to join our small team at Fosterville. This role is essential for maintaining the smooth operation of our yard, ensuring that materials are handled efficiently and safely. The Yard Worker will play a key role in supporting our production of block processes and contributing to overall operational success.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the loading and unloading of materials from trucks and storage areas.
- Operate robotic bagging plant for stock.
- Operate forklifts, loading shovels and other machinery safely to move materials around the yard and load customers vehicles.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment to promote safety.
- Prepare orders for collection or delivery.
- Handle materials with care to prevent damage during transportation.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow throughout the yard.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a yard environment preferred.
- Strong understanding of materials handling procedures.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery safely (certification preferred). Additional training will be provided where necessary but the main focus is good forklift operating experience.
- Physical stamina for manual labor tasks.
- Basic construction and aggregate knowledge is a plus, any mechanical knowledge is brilliant.
- Ability and desire to learn and expand skills and knowledge to enable future proofing of the business and career path.
