As the Operations Scheduler you will be responsible for production and execution of the Daily Flying Programme (DFP) utilising the Training Management System (TMS). You will act as a focal point for all scheduling or TMS enquiries, liaising with various internal and external agencies and all staff. You will staff the Operations Desk ensuring the DFP is executed safely and expeditiously. You will manage TMS daily to ensure accuracy of data for reporting purposes. You will also be a focal point for the ATOMS project, the replacement for TMS.
Day to day
Day to day, you’ll provide support to the Training Manager to ensure safe and timely delivery of training. Your key responsibilities will include:
1. Preparing and publishing the Daily Flying Programme.
2. Liaison with engineering teams, ATC, Station Operations, Training Office staff, Squadron Execs, Flying Authorisers and/or Flying Supervisors, flying crews, support staff, and trainees.
3. Liaison with Survival Equipment teams to ensure safety equipment remains in date.
4. Inputting and managing Flight Plans, booking airfield services and arranging relevant diplomatic clearance.
5. Assisting staff with TMS inputs, management of their diaries and system troubleshooting.

- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely utilising various methods.
- Proven track record for building rapport and working inclusively with others, along with the ability to challenge others respectfully.
- Show capacity for prioritising tasks under time pressure whilst maintaining a calm mindset.
- Ability to adapt to change, adopting agile working practices to meet evolving business needs.
- Good problem solving and analytical skills to help optimise productivity and efficiency.
- Excellent IT skills with the ability to utilise MS Office and other digital programmes.
Desirable Criteria of an Operations Scheduler
- Experience in training management.
- Experience in use of scheduling tools (such as Agenda or STARS).
- Experience in an aviation environment.
Qualifications for an Operations Scheduler
- GCSE English Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) (desirable)
- GCSE Maths Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) (desirable)
