Full job description

Looking for a well-rounded job role where you experience new challenges each day in different areas of Cornwall?

Cornwall Garage Door Centre are a longstanding company with 40 years of experience. We have recently injected a new lease of life into the company, and are now rapidly expanding whilst building upon the strong reputation for excellent quality and friendly staff members.

We are looking to hire a highly motivated individual who can think on their feet and carry out work to the high standard that the company is known for. It is a great opportunity to learn and develop new skills via on the job experience, whilst working alongside highly experienced engineers who will ensure the right candidate is provided with all the knowledge required to fulfil the role.

The role consists of a variety of different tasks:

Installation
Repairs
Trouble shooting
Servicing
Basic carpentry

The doors vary from basic up and overs, to more advanced sectional doors with the options of automated systems to compliment them. The right candidate should be keen to learn, and be able to retain information that will be required to problem solve on a daily basis via repair works.

A typical day will consist of 1-2 installations varied from new builds to pre-existing garages, throughout Cornwall. Works are carried out on both Domestic and Commercial properties so working at heights and heavy lifting is also a part of the day to day experience.

The hours are 0730-1600 Monday-Friday with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break. However you could be required to work beyond these hours at short notice should a job need finishing. The day will start and finish in Truro at our Depot.

Experience would be ideal, however training will be given to the right candidate. A background in a similar field such as window fitting would be an advantage.

Candidates should have:

Great customer service skills
Competency in using power tools (essential)
Basic carpentry and electrical skills (advantageous)
A willingness to learn (essential)
Motivation (essential)

Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
