Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Baker/Cake Decorator to join our dynamic bakery team. This role involves creating high-quality baked goods and beautifully decorated cakes, ensuring each product meets our standards of excellence. Duties
- Prepare a variety of baked goods, including cakes, pastries, and bread, following established recipes and quality standards.
- Decorate cakes and desserts with intricate designs, colours, and themes to meet customer specifications.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to during food preparation and handling.
- Assist in the development of new recipes and decorating techniques to enhance product offerings.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and work surfaces.
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, notifying management when replenishments are needed.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production and delivery of baked goods for events or retail sales.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food production, baking, or culinary arts, preferably within a bakery or restaurant environment.
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and decorating techniques for cakes and desserts.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in a commercial kitchen setting.
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment used in baking and decorating processes.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Creative flair for cake decoration with attention to detail and colour coordination.
- Previous restaurant or bakery experience is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is highly valued.
