We have an exciting opportunity for a Tutor Manager to join our team.
The primary focus of this will be to ensure the effective management of a team of Tutors across multiple disciplines, fostering a supportive environment that enhances learner outcomes, raises retention rates, achieves academic success (in the form of qualification achievement timely) and positive destinations for learners.
This role will ensure that the Tutor performance and quality of our delivery is well managed, consistent across programmes, that Tutors meet their KPI’s and our expectations, and that learners feel supported for the duration of their engagement on our programmes.
Working with the Head of Operations, the Tutor Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day performance of Tutors ensuring a consistent and equitable service across all programmes, ensuring a high quality of education is provided by Tutors and delivery sessions, to meet learner outcomes targets and that learners are prepared for and progress positively e.g. into employment/further education.

Your Role in Practice:
- Provide leadership and guidance to remote delivery Tutors, ensuring consistency across multiple qualifications.
- Work closely with the Head of Quality to maintain the quality of Education with Tutors achieving consistent Good/Outstanding OTLA’s.
- Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings with Tutors, reporting back to the Head of Operations on individual and team performance.
- Act as the first point of contact for Tutor queries, offering timely and effective assistance.
- Monitor marking activities through tracking systems and online learning platforms.
- Effectively manage Tutor caseloads, making adjustments as necessary to meet the evolving business needs.
- Provide a weekly report to the Head of Operations regarding both Tutor and learner performance.
- Collect and analyse data to report on Tutor caseload management, focusing on learner retention, progression, and satisfaction.
- Collaborate with Tutors to identify learners at risk of non-completion and contribute to retention and progression improvement processes.
- Assist the Head of Operations in advancing innovative projects and implementing process improvements.
- Manage a continuous improvement cycle for the Tutor service, aligning with learner performance, progression, and outcomes.
- Oversee the delivery of live sessions, ensuring quality and consistency.
- Collaborate across teams and functions within the organisation as required by business needs.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Experience within the skills sector ideally adult education.
- Supervisory experience and management of a team.
- Management/Team Leading qualification.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Probation period: 6 months
Interview stages: 1 competency-based interview and 2nd more informal interview, both of which can be held on Zoom or in person.
