Chef de Partie – Gretna Green

Full Time | 40 Hours | 5 Days out of 7 | Career Progression

Great food plays a huge part in the experience we create at Gretna Green.

From intimate elopements and wedding celebrations to conferences, coach tours and hotel guests, our kitchens help deliver memorable moments for thousands of visitors every year.

We’re looking for a Chef de Partie to join our kitchen team, working across Gretna Hall and Smiths Hotel — someone who takes pride in quality, enjoys variety, and works well as part of a busy and supportive team.

The role

No two days here are ever quite the same.

One service could be an intimate dinner for an eloping couple.
The next, a busy wedding celebration surrounded by family and friends.

You’ll support service across both Gretna Hall and Smiths Hotel, helping deliver consistently high standards of food and hospitality.

Your responsibilities will include:

Running your section confidently during service
Preparing and presenting dishes to a high standard
Supporting busy wedding and event services
Maintaining excellent food hygiene and kitchen standards
Assisting with stock control and minimising waste
Working closely with the wider kitchen team

What we’re looking for

Previous experience in a busy kitchen environment
A positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
Someone organised, reliable and calm under pressure
Passion for good food and hospitality
Chef de Partie or strong Commis Chef experience preferred
Level 2 Food Hygiene certification beneficial
