Full job description

Groundworker / Excavator, Dumper & Roller Operator – Long Term Position
Location: Avonmouth & Portishead

We are a small, family-run groundworks and civil engineering company operating within a busy commercial port in Bristol.

This is a varied and hands-on role covering all aspects of groundwork and civils, including concreting, resurfacing, drainage, trenching, ducting, kerbing, and reinstatement works. No two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

Operating excavators, dumpers, and rollers safely and efficiently
Working around live services and roadworks environments
Trenching, drainage, pipe laying, and ducting installation
Reading and interpreting service drawings
Concrete pours, shuttering, and formwork
Hand-laying tarmac and carrying out highways reinstatements
Excavator grading and compaction works
Kerbing and slab laying
Ordering materials and plant
Maintaining high standards of health & safety
Communicating professionally with clients, site managers, and contractors

Requirements

Proven groundwork and plant operating experience
Full UK driving licence
Valid CSCS card
CPCS or NPORS card

Desirable Qualifications

NRSWA Streetworks
SSSTS
C1+E driving licence
