About the Role
We are seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant with a minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE) to join our growing financial services group.
This is a broad and hands-on role offering responsibility across multiple entities operating within financial services and consumers. The successful candidate will take ownership of accounting, financial reporting and finance operations for certain businesses, while coordinating the work of external accountants, auditors and tax advisers for other entities within the group.
Working closely with senior management, the successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, supporting business decision-making and contributing to the continued development of the group's finance function.

Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to)
Accounting, Reporting & Financial Control
- Take ownership of the accounting and finance function across multiple group entities.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual management accounts for designated group companies.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and oversee bookkeeping and accounting activities for relevant entities.
- Review balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the integrity of financial records.
- Participate in annual statutory accounts preparation for certain group companies and coordinate year-end reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with UK GAAP, Companies Act requirements and applicable accounting standards.
- Maintain organised accounting records and ensure appropriate supporting documentation is available and up to date.
External Accountants, Tax Advisers & Professional Providers
- Act as the primary point of contact for external accountants, tax advisers and professional service providers.
- Liaise with external accountants responsible for outsourced accounting functions and review their work where appropriate.
- Oversee Companies House filings and related corporate compliance requirements.
Tax, Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
- Coordinate corporation tax, VAT and other statutory compliance processes across the different businesses.
- Support regulatory and compliance reporting requirements applicable to regulated group entities.
- Monitor changes in accounting, tax and regulatory requirements and assess their impact on the business.
- Ensure finance-related deadlines, filings and reporting obligations are met.
Budgeting, Forecasting & Process Improvement
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and business planning activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial controls, reporting quality and operational efficiency.
- Implement scalable finance processes to support business growth.
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems, reporting frameworks and internal controls.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent Chartered Accountant qualification.
- Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Degree in Accountancy, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
- Strong experience in financial reporting, management accounts and statutory accounts preparation.
- Excellent understanding of UK GAAP and corporate reporting requirements.
- Strong understanding of VAT, corporation tax and statutory compliance obligations.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capability.
- Experience using accounting systems such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, NetSuite or similar.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities across a group structure.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail and professional integrity.
Preferred
- Experience within financial services, lending, asset management, investment management, private equity, family office or other regulated environments.
- Familiarity with FCA-regulated businesses and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Knowledge of LLPs, SPVs and investment-related structures.
- Experience implementing accounting process improvements and internal controls.
