Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Addiction / Mental Health Therapist or Counsellor to join our dynamic clinical team.
Working under the supervision of the Clinic Manager, you will deliver a range of therapeutic interventions including assessments, individual therapy, group work, and family sessions, in line with your competencies.
You will also take on a case management role, coordinating all aspects of a client’s treatment journey from assessment through to discharge and aftercare.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver individual, group, and family therapy sessions
- Conduct comprehensive client assessments
- Manage a caseload, guiding clients through inpatient treatment and beyond
- Act as a case manager, coordinating all aspects of client care
- Develop and implement individualised, goal-oriented treatment plans
- Provide therapy as part of inpatient, outpatient, and aftercare programmes
- Monitor client progress and adapt treatment plans as needed
- Identify barriers to recovery and support clients in overcoming these
- Carry out risk assessments and risk management planning
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical records, including:
- Psychosocial assessments
- Treatment plans
- Progress notes
- Risk assessments
- Discharge summaries
- Ensure all documentation meets internal policies and regulatory standards
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Support clients and families in understanding mental health and addiction
- Stay informed of developments in addiction and co-occurring disorder treatment
