Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plasterer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying plaster to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces, ensuring a high-quality finish that meets project specifications. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of residential and commercial projects, contributing to the realisation of durable and aesthetically pleasing structures. Applicants should have experience with hand tools, power tools, and masonry techniques, along with a strong understanding of safety procedures on site.

Responsibilities

Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying necessary primers or bonding agents
Mixing plaster to the correct consistency using appropriate tools
Applying plaster smoothly and evenly to walls, ceilings, and other surfaces using trowels and hawks
Ensuring finishes meet specified standards for texture and appearance
Repairing or patching existing plasterwork as required
Assisting with related tasks such as bricklaying, carpentry, roofing, or welding when needed
Maintaining a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency
Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations at all times during work activities

Skills

Proficiency in using hand tools such as trowels, floats, and spatulas
Experience with bricklaying and masonry techniques is advantageous
Knowledge of power tools including mixers, drills, and saws
Ability to perform basic carpentry tasks related to plastering projects
Familiarity with roofing or welding is a plus but not essential
Strong attention to detail with an eye for quality finishes
Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
Excellent understanding of safety procedures relevant to construction sites
