Working across the entire site, engaging with all employees, responsible for legal compliance and implementation and development of a HSE management system.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Working cross functionally to ensure ongoing implementation of the ISO 45001 management system.
- Ensuring compliance with all legal requirements and group standards, following best practice methodology to achieve continuous improvement
- Guidance and support to the management team and employees in the identification, assessment, control and resolution of workplace risks
- Carry out risk assessments, advise controls.
- Prepare SSOW/SOP’s.
- Lead in-house training.
- Ensure all employees are trained on the relevant risks and SSOW.
- Provide Health & Safety data and statistics in relation to the site.
- Support in the development and roll out of internal health & safety procedures and strategies.
- Keep up to date with current health & safety legislation and developments within the profession.
- Record and investigate incidents, accidents, near misses and making recommendations and communicating findings where appropriate.
- Liaise with the relevant authorities where required.
- Completion of regular site inspections.
- Ensure LOLER & Pressure inspections are carried out to a schedule.
- Arrange & chair safety meetings with contractors/safety representatives etc.
- Support in any construction Health and Safety regulations,.
- Liaise with contractors on site to ensure CDM Regulations are being adhered too.
- Carry out safety inductions for contractors/visitors and new starters.
- Any additional activities as required by the management team.
Person Specification:
Essential
- Significant experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
- Good level of English language; spoken & written
- Excellent communication skills
- Computer literate in Microsoft office
Desirable
- NEBOSH qualified
- Strong communication skills; able to challenge and engage across all levels of the business and external customers
- Able to lead and motivate the team
