Production Printing Operative
Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Production Printing Operative to join our busy textile printing team. We manufacture and supply a wide range of printed products for the events, exhibitions, retail, and promotional sectors. This is a hands-on role involving the production of large-format printed textiles and display materials, supporting all aspects of the manufacturing process from printing through to packing and dispatch.
A significant part of the role involves handling and loading large rolls of fabric onto production machinery. Some fabric rolls can be heavy and require regular manual lifting and movement throughout the working day. Applicants must therefore be physically fit and comfortable carrying out manual handling duties in a fast-paced production environment.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring customer orders are produced to the highest quality standards and dispatched on time. Previous experience in a manufacturing, print, or production environment is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Safely lift, move, and load large rolls of fabric onto printing machinery.
- Handle textile materials throughout the production process, following safe manual handling procedures at all times.
- Set up and assist with print jobs, ensuring materials are correctly prepared for production.
- Monitor production processes and report any issues that may affect quality or efficiency.
- Assist with packing, labelling, and preparing customer orders for dispatch.
- Carry out quality checks to ensure products meet company standards and customer specifications.
- Support all areas of production as required to help meet daily production targets and customer deadlines.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment in accordance with company health and safety procedures.
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure smooth workflow and efficient completion of orders.
- Follow company processes and instructions accurately to maintain consistency and quality.
Skills & Requirements
- Physically fit and capable of regularly lifting and moving heavy rolls of fabric and finished products.
- Comfortable undertaking manual handling tasks throughout the working day.
- Previous experience in a production, manufacturing, warehouse, textile, or print environment is advantageous but not essential.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and confidence working around machinery are beneficial.
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and flexibility to assist in different areas of production.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
