Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Waste Transfer Station Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of waste transfer activities, ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Operate waste transfer machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
- Assist with the loading and unloading of waste materials, including heavy lifting where necessary.
- Ensure waste is correctly sorted, stored, and transferred in accordance with environmental regulations.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify maintenance needs or potential safety hazards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the transfer station area to promote a safe working environment.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support team members in daily tasks and contribute to a collaborative work environment.
Experience
- Previous experience working in waste management or a similar industrial environment is desirable.
- Physical fitness is essential, with the ability to perform heavy lifting regularly.
- Demonstrated ability to work safely in a potentially hazardous environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are important for maintaining operational standards.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
