Lecturer - Barbering
Salary: Up to £20,968.50 per annum (£41,937 FTE), depending on experience
Hours: 17.5 per week
Working Weeks: 52 per year
Contract Type: Permanent
Site: Accrington & Rossendale College
Closing Date: Midnight, Sunday 14 June 2026

The Exciting Role

A new and exciting opportunity has become available for a highly motivated Lecturer with a barbering background to join our close-knit team on a part-time, permanent basis.
You will become part of a highly skilled staff network, who are passionate about raising and supporting aspirations, providing social mobility and an essential talent pool for the local, regional and national economy. We actively encourage the development and growth of our staff, from our internal ‘Be Phenomenal’ programme to building relationships with local stakeholders and developing opportunities for staff and students.
The successful candidate will be required to travel across sites.

This post could suit an experienced practitioner looking for their next challenge or a newly qualified teacher looking to make their mark within an Outstanding organisation.

What You Will Be Doing:

Teaching within the Hairdressing Team, predominantly delivering Barbering
Develop and share resources for the course/subject
Deliver enrichment and enhancement activities
Complete required assessment duties in relation to student assignments

What We Are Looking For:

A level 3 qualification in relevant subject area and appropriate professional qualification/experience
A recognised teaching qualification or a willingness to achieve this within three years of appointment
An Assessor’s Award (or equivalent) qualification
A strong experience within the Barbering sector
Successful teaching experience within the barbering curriculum
