Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and passionate and experienced Sushi Chef to join our culinary team INSIDE THE TESCO SUPERSTORE GREAT DUNMOW CM61SF . The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Japanese cuisine and demonstrate exceptional culinary skills, particularly in sushi preparation. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed.

Duties

Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls, using fresh ingredients.
Ensure all food preparation complies with health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during peak hours.
Assist in the development of new sushi recipes and menu items to enhance the dining experience.
Maintain inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness.
Train junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process to ensure consistency and excellence in every dish.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques related to Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation.
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations in the kitchen environment.
Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
A passion for cooking and creativity in meal presentation is highly desirable.
