DES Group Ltd is a leading engineering services provider in the food, dairy, beverage, pharmaceutical, and personal care industries. We are seeking an experienced Payroll Administrator/Accounts Assistant to provide crucial support to our Finance Manager. This role offers a varied and challenging opportunity with exposure to all aspects of the business.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Payroll and Reporting:
- Enter weekly timesheets and run all weekly payroll reports.
- Manage weekly employee payments and CIS
- Sales and Purchase Ledger Management:
- Prepare and process sales invoices and statements.
- Conduct credit control and reconciliation of sales ledger to nominal.
- Process supplier invoices, company credit cards, and personal expenses.
- Prepare and process Bacs payment runs and reconcile supplier statements.
- Cash and Bank Management:
- Perform bank reconciliations and manage petty cash.
- Maintain Excel cash book..
- Conduct monthly financial reporting including Balance Sheet, P&L, and Trial Balance.
- Run weekly job costing reports.
- VAT and Compliance:
- Manage and check monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
- Run monthly CIS return and send out monthly statements.
- Office Management:
- Handle some office management administrative tasks.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar Payroll/Finance Assistant role.
- Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
- Strong business acumen and practical common sense.
- Preferred experience with Sage.
- Essential accounting experience.
