Summary
Based at our Hail Weston Springs site, applications are invited from electronic technicians / engineers with at least a level 3 qualification in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or those who have the equivalent work experience and knowledge of testing digital and analogue circuits. You will be working in our Production Department.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated engineer who will take responsibility for testing and fault finding complete systems or batches of electronic assemblies & sub-assemblies manufactured by our sub-contractors and conducting product builds. Part of the work will involve testing microprocessor based "Smart Card" and biometric based Time & Attendance and Access Control products and Energy Management systems.
After an initial training period, you will be expected to understand our products down to board and component level, to build & test, diagnose faults and make necessary repairs. It is expected that you will already be familiar with micro-processor and digital circuits and PCs.
Applicants must:
- Have completed a Level 3 Tech Cert.
- Be capable of undertaking diagnostics and able to read medium complexities of circuit schematic diagrams.
- Be competent of soldering through mount components and be able to solder most SMT components with rework/repair of multilayer PCBs down to 0402 component sizes (including experience with RoSH compliant materials and components).
- Have a methodical approach to testing and configuration of customer equipment. Have a knowledge of microprocessor based systems.
- Have preferably worked under a quality management system (i.e. ISO 9001:2008)
- Have good communication skills, a good knowledge of PCs and have the ability to work with minimal supervision.
The salary is circa £31,000 per year dependent upon experience. A private pension is available. This position is an excellent opportunity for a keen, hardworking and enthusiastic engineer who wants to make a real difference within an expanding Production department.
