We are looking for a full-time or part-time Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly team at Isle Vets.
As one of our Veterinary Surgeons, you'll enjoy a balanced and rewarding role designed to support both excellent patient care and your professional development.
- Consult throughout the day
- Benefit from at least one dedicated operating day each week
- Protected time for client communication, reporting results and case discussions
Working Pattern
- Four-day week (approximately 41 hours)
- Minimum of three vets working each day (usually four), ensuring excellent clinical support
- 1 in 3 Saturday mornings (consulting only) with two vets on duty
We are a busy first-opinion practice offering a varied and rewarding caseload.
Our purpose-built clinic, located in the rural city of Ely, Cambridgeshire, is equipped with modern facilities including:

- 8 Veterinary Surgeons, all experienced general practitioners with individual clinical interests, a strong culture of case discussion and collaboration, and weekly support from a visiting orthopaedic specialist
- 8 Veterinary Nurses with special interests including wound care, ISFM certification and Emergency & Critical Care
We also work closely with local charities, particularly Cats Protection, supporting a wide range of animal welfare cases.
As a Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload.
You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
You are a confident and motivated Veterinary Surgeon who enjoys working as part of a team and is committed to delivering high-quality patient and client care. You’ll bring:
- A Veterinary degree and registration (or eligibility to register) with the RCVS
- Experience working in clinical practice with growing confidence in routine medical and surgical cases
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues
- A proactive approach to learning, with openness to feedback and development
- Professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- A passion for delivering excellent patient and client care
