We are a growing international freight forwarding company providing reliable logistics solutions across the UK and Europe. Due to continued expansion, we are looking for an experienced Road Freight Forwarder to join our operations team.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing day-to-day European road freight operations, ensuring shipments are handled efficiently from collection through to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage road freight shipments (imports & exports) across the UK and Europe
- Plan and coordinate FTL, LTL, and groupage movements
- Liaise with hauliers, drivers, depots, and European agents
- Obtain and negotiate rates with carriers
- Prepare and check transport documentation (CMR, delivery notes, customs paperwork where required)
- Track shipments and resolve delays or issues proactively
- Maintain clear communication with clients and provide regular updates
Requirements
- 2–5 years’ experience in road freight forwarding or transport operations
- Strong knowledge of European road freight (essential)
- Experience with FTL, LTL, and groupage shipments
- Good understanding of customs processes (preferred)
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment
