Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dog Groomer to join our professional pet care team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and possess the skills necessary to provide high-quality grooming services. You will also need to hold at least a level 2 qualification in dog grooming. This role involves working closely with pets and their owners to ensure a positive grooming experience, maintaining the health and appearance of each dog. The position offers an opportunity to develop your expertise in animal care within a friendly and supportive environment.

Duties

Bathing, drying, and brushing dogs of various breeds and sizes using appropriate grooming techniques and products
Trimming, clipping, and styling coats according to breed standards or customer preferences
Cleaning ears, trimming nails.
Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of grooming tools and work area
Providing excellent customer service by discussing grooming options with pet owners and addressing any special needs or concerns
Ensuring the safety and well-being of animals throughout the grooming process
Managing appointment schedules efficiently to ensure timely service delivery
Assisting with general animal care duties as required, including feeding or behavioural monitoring

Experience

Previous experience in animal care is highly desirable
Proven skills in dog grooming, including breed-specific cuts and styling techniques
Knowledge of animal behaviour and handling to ensure safe interactions with pets of all temperaments
Ability to perform lifting dogs.
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
Familiarity with grooming equipment, products, and safety protocols is advantageous
