Job Summary
We are seeking a Trainee Funeral Director to join our independent family funeral service as a new member of our team. You will assist in delivering a quality and empathetic service to our clients and the deceased, including manual work, being a member of our on-call rota and attending and providing support during funeral services. Full training will be provided, so a positive, hard-working attitude is more valuable than prior experience.
Duties
- Arranging, attending and conducting funeral services
- Processing funeral arrangements
- Participating as a member of our on-call rota, including evenings and overnight, weekends and bank holidays. This is on an every-other week basis.
- Assisting in bringing the deceased into our care
- Caring for the deceased, including all preparations for chapel visits and funeral services
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the interior and exterior of the premises and our private ambulances
- Participating in funeral services as a pall-bearer and offering support to the conducting Funeral Director
- Assisting in the interment of ashes, including preparing and completing ashes graves and fixing memorial tablets
- All other general duties as required
Essential
- Full clean manual driving licence (for insurance purposes you must be aged 21 years or older)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Must live within one hour's drive of Cranleigh

Pay
- Starting at £24,000.00 to £28,000.00 with opportunity for overtime and payment for each callout whilst on-duty
