Experienced Part-Time Gardener Required
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and reliable gardener to assist with the maintenance and ongoing development of the gardens at a beautiful private country property located just outside Faringdon, Oxfordshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has a genuine passion for horticulture, enjoys working outdoors and takes great pride in creating and maintaining gardens to an exceptionally high standard.
The property comprises extensive established gardens, mature trees, specimen shrubs, lawns and paddocks. The gardens are a particular feature of the property and require regular care and attention throughout the year.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven gardening and horticultural experience.
- Has excellent plant knowledge and sound horticultural skills.
- Can work confidently under their own initiative with minimal supervision.
- Takes genuine pride in their work and has an excellent eye for detail.
- Has a passion for gardening and enjoys maintaining high standards.
- Has an interest in the ongoing development and enhancement of established gardens.
- Is reliable, hardworking and trustworthy.
The role will include the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the gardens, including weeding, pruning, planting, lawn care, hedge maintenance and seasonal gardening tasks.
There will also be occasional use of a ride-on mower and, from time to time, some strimming where required, although the majority of mowing and strimming is undertaken by other members of the grounds team. The emphasis of this role is on the care, presentation and continual improvement of the gardens rather than general grounds maintenance.
This position would particularly suit someone who enjoys working in a peaceful rural environment and values the opportunity to care for an established garden where quality, attention to detail and pride in their work are appreciated.
Part-time position
Hours are flexible and can be agreed with the successful applicant, with a minimum of 12 hours per week.
Competitive rate of pay, dependent upon experience.
