Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Fish Fryer to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and cooking, with experience working in a busy kitchen environment. This role offers an opportunity to develop culinary skills while contributing to the delivery of high-quality meals. The Fish Fryer will be responsible for preparing and frying fish and other related dishes, ensuring food safety standards are maintained at all times.
Duties
- Prepare fish and other ingredients according to specified recipes and standards
- Cook fish using appropriate frying techniques to achieve optimal texture and flavour
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including cleaning fryers and utensils
- Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations
- Assist with meal preparation for service periods, supporting overall kitchen operations
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing
- Follow health and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and accidents during food preparation
- Support team members in delivering excellent service during busy periods
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, preferably within a restaurant or catering environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Strong understanding of meal preparation techniques, especially frying methods for fish
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in food presentation and quality control
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a friendly attitude towards colleagues and customers
- Previous experience in serving or assisting in a restaurant setting is advantageous but not essential
