Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager (Commercial and Operations) to lead our organisation’s commercial activities and operational functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving strategic growth, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality services.
This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the future of our organisation through effective leadership, innovative management, and a focus on operational excellence.**Lead a growing UK health-tech business as our General Manager**
CPDme is on a mission to make professional development simple for over 150,000 healthcare and regulated professionals across more than 120 governing bodies. We have grown from a single idea in 2009 into a platform that supports individuals and organisations to record, reflect on and evidence their continuing professional development.
Our founder is moving to a board role, and we are looking for an exceptional General Manager to take the reins of the day-to-day business and drive our next phase of growth.
This is a genuinely broad leadership role for someone who enjoys both the commercial chase and the operational detail of running a company. You will own the running of the business, lead a small and capable team, and personally own our corporate sales pipeline, taking organisations from first demonstration through to a fully onboarded, happy client.
What you will do
- Run the day-to-day business, holding overall responsibility for performance, the team and our operating rhythm
- Lead and support our existing team across marketing, admin, webinars, events and product
- Own the corporate pipeline end to end: deliver demonstrations, convert prospects into clients, and manage onboarding for our corporate products including CPDteams, CPDresilience and CPDtrack
- Coordinate every new client launch, working with our admin lead on invoicing, our marketing manager on promotion and graphics, and our product lead on any system changes a client needs
- Manage our sales pipeline and reporting, turning prospects into live, paying organisations
- Work closely with our product and development function to make sure the platform keeps moving forward for our users
- Report into the board and help shape strategy as we grow
What we are looking for
- A proven commercial operator who has run a business unit, a company or a significant function, ideally in SaaS, health-tech, membership or professional services
- Strong sales and account management instincts, comfortable leading demonstrations and closing corporate deals
- A natural coordinator who can keep marketing, admin, finance and product all pulling in the same direction
- Confident with pipeline tools and reporting; we use Monday.com, so experience there is a bonus
- Calm, organised and trusted, the kind of person a founder can hand the keys to
- Comfortable being office-based at our Whalley site, with flexibility around the role
Desirable
- Experience in CPD, e-learning, regulated professions or membership organisations
- Familiarity with integrations such as single sign-on or learning management systems
What we offer
- Salary of **£42,000 to £58,000** depending on experience
- The chance to lead and shape a respected, profitable, mission-led business
- A close, supportive team and direct line to the founder and board
- Workplace pension, holiday including bank holidays, and other benefits to confirm
