Overview
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Ground Worker to join our construction team. This role involves carrying out a variety of tasks on-site to support building and infrastructure projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. The ideal candidate will be a team player with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and productive working environment. Responsibilities
- Carry out general groundworks including digging, concreting, drainage, kerbing, and laying foundations.
- Prepare and maintain construction sites, ensuring work areas are safe and tidy.
- Assist with setting out and measuring work areas according to project specifications.
- Operate hand tools, small plant, and machinery as required (training may be provided).
- Support tradespeople and other site staff in completing daily tasks.
- Follow all site health and safety procedures and report any issues to supervisors.
- Handle and move materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure projects are delivered on time and to quality standards.
Qualifications and Skills
- Previous experience in groundworks or general construction is desirable but not essential.
- Good understanding of site safety and willingness to follow all safety rules and instructions.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual labour in all weather conditions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to high-quality workmanship.
- CSCS card preferred (or willingness to obtain one).
- Full UK driving licence is an advantage.
