Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable 7.5 Tonne Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods efficiently and safely across various locations, ensuring customer satisfaction and adhering to all safety regulations. Normally covering regular routes in the South East with 2 or 3 drops.
You will be working as part of a small friendley team
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a 7.5 tonne curtainsider lorry to deliver goods to regular clients across designated routes
- Ensure timely collection and delivery of products, maintaining schedules and deadlines
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with legal standards
- Secure loads properly on the flatbed to prevent movement during transit
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Maintain a professional attitude when interacting with clients and team members
- Follow all road safety laws and company policies during daily operations
- Report any vehicle issues or incidents promptly to management for resolution
Qualifications
- Valid UK driving licence with a minimum of Category C1 (7.5 Tonne) entitlement
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with curtain sider vehicles or delivery roles
- Knowledge of safe loading and securing of cargo.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record
- Ability to navigate efficiently using GPS or maps, with good knowledge of local routes
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail in completing paperwork
- Good communication skills and professionalism when dealing with clients and colleagues
- Ability to work independently, managing time effectively during daily routes
