Full job description

We are looking to add a full time Pharmacy Dispensing Assistant or Technician qualified to at least NVQ level 2 to our existing pharmacy team. (PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT A QUALIFIED DISPENSER).

The role is situated in a busy dispensary for an online pharmacy that mainly caters for private healthcare, located in Maldon (Tolleshunt Major) Essex.

There are 2 options for hours

Option 1 FULL TIME: 10am - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 1pm Saturday (One Saturday per month)

Option 2 PART TIME: 9.15am - 2.45pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 1pm Saturday

Option 3 PART TIME: 12.30pm - 6pm Monday to Friday and 9am - 1pm Saturday

These may be subject to some flexibility in terms of hours but the days are fixed. Any additional days are at the discretion of the business

Candidates must have excellent customer service and communication skills as although the pharmacy is not customer facing, many telephone and email queries can only be dealt with by trained pharmacy staff.

Good I.T. skills are also a must as the role involves learning our bespoke dispensing system. A good eye for detail is essential as well as a good work ethic and the ability to work well in a team.

The team has a varied skill set as well as a good team spirit and we are looking for a potential candidate to add to that. A good knowledge of OTC products is also necessary as one of the current projects is the development of an online OTC shop.

Experience of working in a pharmacy dispensary is essential.

What we are looking for in a candidate:

Dispensing Assistant qualification (NVQ Level 2 or above)
Minimum 2 years Pharmacy experience
Strong communication skills
Team player
IT literate
Proven customer service skills.
Drivers license and means of transport

Tasks include:

- Preparing and dispensing medicines

- Manage email and telephone patient queries

- Aid in business development by proactively bringing in ideas to help growth.

- Provide appropriate advice to customers on minor ailments and where appropriate refer them to the pharmacist.

Appropriate candidates should be prepared to work flexibly to cover staff illness when required.
