To help assist with the Council’s priority to deliver affordable housing, an opportunity has arisen for temporary Senior Planning Officer.
The post holder will be deal with a range of residential planning applications and enquiries for affordable housing, some which will be a complex nature which will need to be reported to Planning Committee.
The main duties and responsibilities of the post include:
- Processing complex and varied planning applications for affordable housing, including the preparation of case officer/committee reports.
- working to strict deadlines
- Providing professional pre-application advice to the public, members and developers via our pre-application advice service.
- Presenting applications at Planning Committee meetings
- Working closely with a variety of internal teams such as Housing, Highways and Planning Policy.
Candidates should have a Degree or equivalent in Town and Planning or a related discipline, be a member of the RTPI and have comprehensive working knowledge and experience of development management processes and have at least 5 years relevant experience at Senior Officer level.
This role offers flexible working options for a work life balance. This can include adjusting your working day and hybrid working, ie a balance of office and home working.
