Pro Steel Engineering is a growing structural steel fabrication company delivering high-quality steelwork across a range of sectors. Due to continued expansion, we are looking for an experienced Steel Fabricator to join our skilled team at our Pontypool (New Inn) facility.
About the Role
As a Fabricator, you will play a key role in producing structural steel components from detailed technical drawings. You’ll be responsible for accurate measuring, cutting, and assembling steelwork, ensuring everything is prepared to specification prior to welding.
This role is ideal for someone with strong fabrication experience who takes pride in precision and quality workmanship.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate structural steel components to specification
- Interpret and work from detailed fabrication and engineering drawings
- Measure, mark out, cut, drill, and assemble steel sections
- Prepare and fit components for welding
- Operate workshop machinery and hand tools safely and effectively
- Ensure all work meets company quality standards
- Work collaboratively with welders and production teams
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workspace
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven background in structural steel fabrication
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Experience with fabrication tools and workshop equipment
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Minimum 2 years’ fabrication experience (preferred)
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Basic welding experience (MAG/FCAW)
- Overhead crane licence
- Forklift operating experience
- Experience within heavy/structural steel environments
