Role
To provide leadership and drive operational performance excellence through the manufacturing shift team. To work closely with peers and Manufacturing Manager to implement and deliver consistent high standards of manufacturing execution. Accountable for delivery of balanced scorecard across the site supporting and developing your Production Area Managers (PAMs) to deliver effective high standards: right first time, effective short interval control & timely root cause analysis to eliminate repeat issues.
Take a lead in talent identification and development across teams to raise overall capability by engaging and retaining the right people and creating real accountability for performance at every level
Key Accountabilities
· To actively promote a safety culture and ensure that all Health and Safety requirements, ensuring legislative requirements are met such as risk assessments, COSSH, PUWER.
· Ensure conformance to plan is delivered at greater than 95% in achieving performance targets, providing service levels to the Supply Chain Planning function via the management of shift-based teams.
· Deliver product quality standards, food safety and hygiene standards, through operational control and compliance of equipment and processes, maintenance and cleaning of production equipment, via management of shift-based teams.
· Deliver standard cost measures of production of products, including management of materials, labour and overhead budget through daily/weekly/period KPI’s and management of all aspects of operations performance for the areas of responsibility
· Play at active role at every step in the employee journey: from selecting good candidates, building and maintaining capability to meet Business needs through timely execution of training, holiday scheduling and ensuring team and individuals are informed through team communication and individual feedback.
· Ensuing that culture continues to evolve and that Tayto values and guiding Principles are promoted and upheld. Examples of this include diligence in supporting the site vision through leading various teams and supporting and driving people engagement forums.
· Develop positive working relationships with all key stakeholders (including Quality, Engineering, EHS, Finance, NPD and also externally with suppliers and customers) that address short term needs.
· To ensure that all Company rules and procedures are adhered to and issues are dealt with fairly, promptly and consistently.
· To buildand develop manufacturing best practice through a continuous improvement approach within Tayto.
Skills and behaviours
· HACCP Level 3 with food processing/packaging know how; risk assessments
· Proven record of Continuous Improvement and Change Management Processes
· Demonstrable experience working within a senior operational role in a food processing environment
· A people Leader (team builder, coach & mentor) who unlocks the potential of the team around them
· Effective communicator at all levels from front line to Board level (able to engage teams, leverage potential and drive change
· Highly effective short interval control management, drives & maintains high standards across the operational scorecard
· Analytical: able to harness data to support effective decision making
· Organised: effective time manager who can prioritise, drive & drive high standards
· A problem solver: a track record of problem identification through standard tools to and action close out that delivers results
