Job Title: Early Help Support Worker
Location: Bournemouth, Christchurch, and Poole (BCP) area
Salary: £34,434 - £39,152
Job Type: Full-time, part-time, permanent and fixed term positions available;
3 x 37-hour permanent post
1 x 30-hour permanent post
1 x 37- hour 12 months fixed term post- 1/8/26-31/07/27
1 x 22.2-hour 12 months fixed term post- Maternity Cover

As an Early Help Support Worker, you will be a key member of the Early Help and Targeted Intervention Service, working in Locality based teams across BCP.
Your role will involve delivering high-quality interventions to support children and young people aged 0-19 and up to 25 with SEND aiming to improve outcomes and build parental capacity, strengths, and resilience. Work directly with professionals and the public looking to seek information, advice and guidance and undertaking live screening tools. This will involve work with young people that are not in education, employment or training, young carers, those children and young people who are on the edge of care or returning to their families after being in care.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as a case-holding lead professional, undertaking assessments and creating intervention plans.

Deliver high-quality programmes, targeted groups, and individual interventions within Family and Young People Hubs, schools, online and other venues.

Plan, deliver, and evaluate programme activities for children and young people aged 0-19 and up to 25 with SEND, providing feedback to managers.

Undertake observation, assessment, direct work and progress tracking to measure outcomes.

Engage with community, voluntary providers, and partner agencies to support access to Early Help services across the BCP Partnership.

Ensure the child/young person/family is at the centre of professional planning and intervention.

Participate in community and cluster meetings/events, building collaborative relationships with partners.

Maintain high-quality, engaging learning environments within Family and Young People Hubs.

Apply principles of anti-discriminatory practice to ensure dignity and respect for all children and young people.

Organize and participate in regular consultation events with service stakeholders.

Work under the direction of the team manager or Senior Practitioner, engaging in reflective case supervision.
Qualifications and Experience:
-
Minimum NVQ 4 in a related field or equivalent experience.
-
Sound knowledge of child development (0-11 years) and/or adolescence (11-19 years).

Experience in completing observations, written assessments, and making evidence-based decisions.

Proven experience in delivering direct interventions that improve outcomes for children, young people, and parents/carers.

Working knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory guidance.

Understanding of safeguarding and child protection.

Good understanding of Early Help Services across BCP.

Job Requirements:

Enhanced DBS check.

Ability to travel across the BCP area using public or other forms of transport.

Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends.
