Starks Solar is a growing, family-run solar installation company based in Ringwood. We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Solar Roofer / Labourer to join our friendly, tight-knit team on a full-time, permanent basis.
This role would suit someone with some previous roofing, construction or labouring experience who is comfortable working outdoors and at height. Previous solar installation experience is not essential, as full on-the-job training will be provided.
Most of our installations are local to Ringwood and the surrounding areas, so this is a great opportunity to work close to home while developing valuable skills in the fast-growing renewable energy industry.
What You’ll Be Doing
Working alongside our experienced roofers and electricians, you will help complete high-quality residential and commercial solar installations.
Your duties will include:
- Assisting with the installation of solar panels and roof-mounting systems
- Carrying, lifting and safely positioning solar panels
- Measuring and installing roof hooks and mounting rails
- Removing and replacing roof tiles where required
- Helping to maintain roof integrity and weatherproofing
- Installing solar panel bird protection
- Loading and unloading company vehicles
- Preparing tools, materials and equipment for each installation
- Assisting with basic roofing work and repairs
- Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe
- Following all Health and Safety and Working at Height procedures
- Providing a polite and professional service at customers’ properties
What We’re Looking For
We are looking for someone who is practical, dependable and willing to learn.
Essential Requirements
- A full, valid UK driving licence
- Comfortable working safely at height
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and positioning solar panels
- A hardworking and reliable attitude
- Good timekeeping and attention to detail
- Able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team
- Respectful and professional when working at customers’ homes and businesses
Desirable Experience
- Previous roofing experience
- Construction, labouring or other practical trade experience
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Experience working on tiled, slate or flat roofs
- Previous solar panel installation experience
Formal roofing, solar or construction qualifications are not required. Training will be provided for the right person with the right attitude and work ethic.
