Job Summary
We are seeking dedicated and proactive Governors to join our organisation. The Governors will play a vital role in guiding the strategic direction, ensuring effective governance, and supporting the organisation’s mission. This volunteer position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful community initiatives while developing valuable skills in governance and stakeholder engagement. Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and contribute to the organisation’s long-term planning.
- Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements relevant to the organisation’s operations.
- Support and promote organisational programmes through effective advocacy and outreach.
- Assist in developing and implementing fundraising strategies to secure financial sustainability.
- Foster positive relationships with stakeholders, including donors, partners, and community members.
- Oversee financial management, including reviewing budgets and ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.
- Understand and work with organisation to ensure all safeguarding legislation and policies are adhered to
- Represent the organisation at public events, meetings, and community activities to raise awareness.
- Collaborate with staff and other Trustees to ensure organisational effectiveness and transparency.
Skills
- Proven experience or interest in education to promote organisational initiatives.
- Strong relationship management skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders effectively.
- Experience or knowledge of fundraising techniques and practices.
- Strong understanding of SEND education.
- Effective public relations abilities to enhance organisational visibility and reputation.
- Demonstrated safeguarding qualities with the ability to work collaboratively within a governance framework.
