Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Support Engineer to join our dynamic IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge cloud technologies, develop innovative solutions, and ensure the seamless operation of our cloud services. Candidates should possess a strong background in cloud architecture, scripting, and software development, with a passion for problem-solving and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for cloud-based systems and services across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, and OpenStack environments.
Assist in designing and implementing scalable cloud architecture solutions using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, and CloudFormation.
Manage containerisation platforms including Docker and Kubernetes to deploy and orchestrate applications efficiently.
Develop automation scripts using Python, Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell, and other scripting languages to streamline operations and deployments.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues related to virtualisation technologies like VMware and Hyper-V.
Collaborate with development teams to support application deployment using CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Git.
Maintain security protocols by configuring VPNs, firewalls, and access controls in accordance with best practices.
Support database management tasks involving MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and NoSQL databases like MongoDB.
Contribute to the development of APIs and web services following REST principles for integration purposes.
Document processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.
Stay current with emerging cloud technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements.

Qualifications

Proven experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform or OpenStack.
Strong understanding of cloud architecture principles including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS models.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash (Unix shell), PowerShell; knowledge of JavaScript or Ruby is advantageous.
Hands-on experience with containerisation (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and virtualization (VMware).
Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible, Chef or Puppet.
Knowledge of networking concepts including VPNs and network security best practices.
Experience working with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle; understanding of SQL/T-SQL is desirable.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues efficiently.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. This role offers an engaging environment for IT professionals eager to advance their careers in cloud computing while working on innovative projects within a supportive team setting.
