Following around 20 years of incredible dedication with us, one of our valued Senior Architectural Technologists is moving on to pursue a new opportunity. As a result, we are seeking an experienced professional to step directly into this established role within our dynamic design team. The Role:
As an Experienced Architectural Technologist (minimum 5 years’ experience), you will facilitate the technical delivery of a variety of active projects. You will act as a key point of contact, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing workflows, and working closely with architects, consultants, contractors, and clients principally across RIBA Work Stages 3 to 5 to transition projects seamlessly from technical design to on-site construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Delivery: Develop detailed architectural drawings, complex technical packages, and robust specifications using AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM workflows.
- On-Site Construction Documents: Ensure original design intent is accurately, practically, and safely translated into buildable construction documentation.
- Project Coordination: Seamlessly collaborate with structural engineers, surveyors, and specialist subcontractors to proactively iron out technical coordination issues.
- Compliance & Quality Assurance: Lead the rigorous review of construction documentation to guarantee total compliance with UK Building Regulations, statutory legislation, and health and safety codes.
- Site Involvement: Conduct site visits to monitor progress, attend critical project meetings, and resolve live technical issues during the construction phase.
About You (Job Requirements)
Essential Criteria:
- Experience: At least 5 years of proven experience working as an Architectural Technologist or Senior Architectural Technologist within a professional UK architectural practice or engineering firm.
- Technical Competence: Exceptional technical detailing capabilities and a robust understanding of modern construction methods, materials, and regulations.
- Software Proficiency: High proficiency in CAD (AutoCAD), Revit, and BIM processes.
- Project Management: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail.
- Communication: Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
Desirable Criteria:
- Not essential depending on experience MCIAT accreditation (or actively working toward it).
- Experience across a diverse mix of sectors (e.g., residential, medical, commercial).
- Site inspection and contract administration experience.
