You're heading for a First or a 2:1 this summer, or you already have your degree from last year. Your GCSEs and A levels were take-me-anywhere; you’re great with numbers. You really want to be an accountant and your plan is to be Chartered as soon as possible, and you're willing to do whatever that takes. You're local, and you want to stay that way. The big firms hold no appeal for you, you want to work somewhere where the environment is friendly, relaxed, focused, but fun. You want to work with business people who deserve the very best.
We have the opportunity for you to train as a Chartered Accountant and study for the ACA qualification. It will be hard, but we’ll support you. You’ll get time off for the exams. In three years, you’ll be a Chartered Accountant, have letters after your name, and your parents will be telling everyone.
Allens Accountants are a six partner, medium sized firm based in South Manchester. Our partner’s ages range from 35 to 55. To you that sounds ancient, but in the world of accountancy, professional services and careers, that’s a young team. They, too, all started at the firm direct from education, like you, as trainees. We have 39 staff, you could be 40.
We are a long established firm, but with a modern outlook. We love Xero, cloud accounting, tax planning, our fabulous clients and the business world. We are also super brainy, even if we say it ourselves. You’ll learn from the best. We’re a bit meh about social media though; we don’t shout about good we are, we just are, and it works for us, and our clients.
You will have:
- 2:1 Degree or higher in a STEM discipline
- Enviable GCSEs and A levels - mostly A*or As are the line up, with maths as a strength
- Enthusiasm for, and an interest in, business and finance
You will be:

- Potential to work well under pressure and be well organised
- Enjoy working with a variety of clients
