Full job description

Job Summary
We are a small family run business seeking a reliable and experienced 8 Wheel Tipper Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating one of our well maintained Scania tipper lorries to transport and deliver materials safely and efficiently, within the Mendip area and beyond. This role requires a professional driver with a strong commitment to safety, punctuality, and excellent driving skills. The role is predominantly working Monday to Friday with occasional Saturday work.

Duties

Operate HGV tipper lorries to transport materials (e.g. aggregates, muck etc) to designated sites in a safe and timely manner
Ensure the secure loading and unloading of vehicle, adhering to safety regulations and company policies
Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any maintenance issues promptly
Keep vehicle assigned to you in a clean and presentable manner
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs of all trips undertaken
Follow all traffic laws and regulations, prioritising safety at all times
Communicate effectively with planners and customers

Requirements

Valid C (class 2) driving license and a valid DQC (CPC) card
Ideally have a clean license with minimum 2 years experience
MPQC card preferred
Experience in Mendip quarries advantageous
Prior experience operating tippers or similar vehicles
Good knowledge of road safety regulations and best driving practices
Ability to perform routine vehicle checks and basic maintenance tasks
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively
A professional attitude with excellent communication skills and a commitment to safety standards

Pay: From £14.30 per hour
