A restaurant expeditor at My Delhi plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth flow of operations in our restaurants. Their primary responsibility is to coordinate between the kitchen and the serving staff to ensure that orders are prepared correctly and delivered to customers in a timely manner.
Our ideal candidate has experience working in high volume restaurants, and supporting the Head Chef by leading the pass from the FOH side. Our Lead Expo should lead with clear communication, a great working pace, and be able to remain calm and composed throughout service.
As this is a key role in a new restaurant opening, the successful candidate should be confident to deliver training to new members of the team. The initial training period for the successful candidate will require approximately 7-10 days of training in our sister sites in the North East of England, so travel and working away is required for this initial time period.
Main responsibilities include:
- Food Quality and Timeliness: Ensure that food served to guests is not only hot and promptly delivered but also meets the restaurant's visual standards.
- Efficient Service Management: Oversee food service operations, ensuring efficiency, timely delivery, and proper preparation to guarantee a smooth night's service.
- Responsibility for Food Runner and Busser team and stations: Manage the team responsible for serving dishes, ensuring timely replenishment and availability of prep for dine in and takeaways.
- Takeaway Management: Ensure takeaways are prepared accurately, including correct items, timely readiness, and coordinating with delivery platforms to ensure timely pickup by drivers. Maintain high ratings on delivery platforms and address any issues with delivery orders promptly.
- Inventory and Stock Management: Monitor and manage stock levels for nibbles, desserts, takeaway packaging, takeaway drinks, and garnishes. Coordinate with suppliers for orders and inform chefs about low stock levels of restaurant-made desserts and nibbles.
- Station Cleanliness and Compliance: Maintain clean, organised, and hazard-free stations, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards and consistent availability of takeaway packaging.
- Effective Order Management: Ensure orders are handled efficiently and accurately, maintain inventory records regularly, and conduct quarterly inventory checks.
- Equipment Maintenance: Clean and maintain equipment in the waiter station and food service area to ensure optimal functionality.
