Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable New Build Painter & Decorator to join our team. The idea candidate will be responsible for preparing and painting new construction properties, ensuring high-quality finishes that meet client specifications. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on diverse projects within the construction sector, contributing to the creation of aesthetically pleasing and durable interiors and exteriors. Applicants should possess strong communication skills, a good understanding of construction painting techniques, and a valid driving licence.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Apply paints, varnishes, stains, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces of new builds
- Use a variety of tools and equipment including brushes, rollers, spray guns, and scaffolding safely and effectively
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards
- Communicate effectively with site managers and clients regarding project progress and any issues encountered
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment throughout each project
- Assist with colour matching and selecting appropriate finishes as required
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting or related trades is desirable
- Strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing methods
- Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites
- Excellent communication skills in English to liaise effectively with team members and clients
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Physical fitness to undertake manual tasks including climbing ladders or scaffolding for extended periods
