Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced self-employed Air Conditioning Engineer to work alongside our team on an ongoing subcontract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for an established sole trader or limited company contractor who is looking for consistent, high-quality work across the North West. You will be trusted to work independently, representing us professionally on site while delivering first-class installations, servicing, and breakdown cover.

- Location: North West (Liverpool / Manchester area preferred) — some travel required
- Work Pattern: On the road, project and callout based
The Work
- Installation of split systems, VRV/VRF, and close control air conditioning units
- Planned preventative maintenance and routine servicing of installed systems
- Breakdown diagnosis and repair across a variety of commercial and industrial sites
- Reading and interpreting schematics, technical drawings, and system layouts
- Professional client-facing conduct — you may attend site meetings on our behalf
- Accurate completion of job sheets, service reports, and compliance documentation
- Working across leading manufacturers including Daikin, Mitsubishi, Toshiba, and others
Requirements
- Proven experience in air conditioning installation — essential
- Sound working knowledge of service and breakdown across multiple system types
- F-Gas qualified (City & Guilds 2079 / FGAS Category 1)
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (or equivalent)
- CSCS card holder
- Own vehicle — essential (must be suitable for carrying tools and equipment)
- Own tools and test equipment — essential
- Valid and clean UK driving licence
- Registered self-employed or operating via limited company
- Ability to work independently and manage your own time on site
- Well presented and professional at all times
Desirable
- Broad knowledge across multiple manufacturers (Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, Toshiba, Samsung, LG, etc.)
- Experience working on commercial and industrial sites
- Own public liability insurance (preferred)
