Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Groundwork Supervisor to oversee and coordinate groundwork activities on construction or infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, supervisory experience, and proficiency in Primavera P6. This role involves leading a team of groundwork operatives, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and project deadlines are met efficiently. The successful applicant will play a vital role in delivering high-quality groundwork operations while maintaining a safe and organised work environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily groundwork activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety regulations.
Manage a team of groundwork operatives, providing guidance, training, and support to optimise productivity.
Plan and schedule groundwork tasks using Primavera P6 to ensure timely project delivery.
Monitor progress against project timelines, adjusting schedules as necessary to address delays or unforeseen issues.
Ensure all groundwork activities comply with health and safety standards, conducting regular site inspections.
Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to communicate progress and resolve any operational issues.
Maintain organised documentation of work performed, safety records, and resource utilisation.
Assist in the procurement of materials and equipment required for groundwork operations.

Qualifications

Proven management experience within the construction or civil engineering sectors.
Supervising experience in groundwork or related fields is essential.
Proficiency in Primavera P6 or similar project management software is highly desirable.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
Excellent communication skills to liaise with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
Commitment to health & safety standards and best practices on site.
Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or construction management are advantageous but not mandatory. This position offers an opportunity to lead impactful projects within a dynamic environment, requiring a dedicated professional committed to excellence in groundworks supervision.
