What you’ll do
We have an exciting opportunity for a Conveyancing Assistant looking to develop their career in a varied and busy Residential Property Department at our Exeter office on a full time and permanent basis.
Joining one of the leading law firms in the South West, you'll be part of a friendly and supportive Residential Property team, providing essential support to our fee earners and dealing with daily administration tasks within the department. You will be managing files in conjunction with our fee earners, including regular contact with Estate Agents, Solicitors, Brokers, and Clients, dealing with correspondence, enquiries, exchanging contracts and completing transactions.
Responsibilities include supporting fee earners within the team but also managing your own files to include dealing with property sales and purchases from start to finish; including carrying out property searches, enquires, contract packs, completions and registrations- no two days are the same in this busy role.
Whilst the role will mainly be based at our Exeter office, it will be possible to offer a blend of home and office based working in the future.
Who you are
You bring solid experience within residential conveyancing or a similar legal environment, with a strong understanding of the end-to-end property transaction process. You are confident working both independently and in support of fee earners, and you are comfortable taking ownership of files, managing competing priorities and ensuring a consistently high standard of work.
You thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, demonstrating excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, even when working to tight deadlines. You take a proactive approach, anticipating needs and progressing matters efficiently while maintaining accuracy and compliance.
With regular client and stakeholder interaction, you are a confident communicator who builds strong professional relationships with ease. You are committed to delivering an excellent client experience, showing empathy, professionalism and a clear understanding of client needs at every stage of the process.
