We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join our supportive Community Paediatric Team in West Dunbartonshire on a fixed-term basis. Based at the Vale Centre for Health and Care, you will work across a diverse locality supporting children, young people and families. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
Fixed-Term, Full-Time
Base Location: The Vale Centre for Health and Care
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday
Key responsibilities:
- Manage and prioritise a specialist caseload of children and young people with complex speech, language and communication needs

Undertake comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and delivery of evidence-based therapy interventions

Develop and implement individualised therapy programmes, including for complex and neurodevelopmental presentations

Work collaboratively with families, education staff and multidisciplinary colleagues to support care planning and outcomes

Contribute to training, coaching and support for colleagues, support staff and partner agencies

Maintain accurate clinical records, reports and data in line with professional and organisational standards

Participate in service development, audit, research and pre-referral activity to enhance patient care
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent qualification

Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)

Significant experience working with paediatric caseloads, including complex communication needs

Knowledge of neurodevelopmental differences and a range of speech, language and communication disorders

Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within multidisciplinary and multi-agency teams

Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills with a commitment to reflective practice

Full UK driving licence and access to a car, and membership of the PVG Scheme required
