Transport Escort (Part-Time – 25 Hours per Week)

Location: Southampton

Salary: £16,523 per year

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 11:00 and 14:30 – 17:00 (25 hours per week).

About the Role

We are looking for a caring and reliable Transport Escort to join our team, supporting individuals to travel safely to and from our Day Centre Hubs.

Working alongside a driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring passengers feel safe, comfortable and supported throughout their journey.

This is a highly rewarding position suited to someone who is compassionate and enjoys working with people.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support to customers from their home to the Day Centre Hub and back
Assist passengers boarding and exiting the vehicle, including wheelchair users
Ensure all passengers are safely seated and secured during transport
Offer physical and emotional support while encouraging independence
Maintain a safe, respectful and comfortable environment during journeys
Communicate any concerns, incidents or health observations to managers
Work closely with colleagues to ensure excellent customer care

What We’re Looking For

A caring, patient and reliable nature
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to support individuals with mobility needs
A professional and respectful attitude

Desirable (but not essential):

Experience working with elderly people or vulnerable adults (including informal care such as supporting family members)
Experience in transport, care or community-based roles
